At Timmerije, we value the well-being of people, the environment, and society. Our approach focuses on inclusive entrepreneurship, efficient and sustainable production methods, and strong involvement in the local community. In doing so, we take responsibility for the impact of our processes and actively contribute to a circular and future-proof world.
Integration of sheltered workshops
For over 45 years, we have been committed to strong cooperation with organizations that support people who are distanced from the labor market in their development. Since 2012, SW employees have been part of our assembly department, where they contribute to our injection molding solutions on a daily basis as valued colleagues with a passion for the business. This collaboration is a textbook example of inclusive entrepreneurship.
CO2 footprint
In our plastic product development, we focus on limiting material use and minimizing our carbon footprint. Where possible, we reuse materials and use recycled materials for various projects. We have also set up recycling programs for our customers. We take used plastic injection molded parts back from the market, after which we carefully separate and grind them in our own grinding facility.
Use of recycled materials
In addition to using recycled materials, we also use biopolymers as a sustainable solution. Because biopolymers are still undergoing rapid development in terms of their potential applications, we make our own molds available to accelerate these processes. Together with our raw material suppliers, we are investigating how these materials can best be processed in plastic injection molded products.
Zero waste
Reducing waste is one of our most important performance indicators. That is why we have launched the internal “Don’t waste it” project, which aims to reduce waste in our production. Thanks to investments in a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), we can accurately monitor, control, and continuously improve this reduction.
Reduction in energy consumption
To reduce our energy consumption, we have tightened up our specifications and working methods. Reducing energy consumption is central to every investment and action we take. For example, all our new machines are more energy-efficient and we switch off the power to our machinery when it is not in use. In addition, we generate a large part of our energy sustainably with more than 500 solar panels.
Social function
We fulfill our social role in the community by sponsoring local associations, participating in regional festivities, and organizing company visits. As a recognized training company, we also offer internships and apprenticeships to students from the region.
