Consumer goods
From handy kitchen items to sustainable toys and stylish lifestyle products, plastic is indispensable in consumers’ everyday lives. Consumer goods require products that are practical, durable, and attractive at the same time. With our expertise in plastic injection molding, we support manufacturers in developing smart solutions that consumers use every day.
Our approach to consumer goods
The consumer goods market demands products that are not only functional, but also attractive and suitable for intensive daily use. To achieve this, we combine design, technology, and production in a single systematic approach. We consider every detail, from design and functionality to ease of use and sustainability. This results in plastic products that are durable and perfectly tailored to consumer needs.
We assist manufacturers from the design phase onwards and also take care of mold development and maintenance. This enables us to achieve efficient injection molding production and complete assembly. Thanks to this integrated approach, we can respond quickly to trends, deliver high volumes, and still offer the quality and appearance that consumers expect.

Customer case: Easyclip – Mepal
In April 2023, Mepal successfully launched the innovative Easyclip storage box. This multifunctional storage box is unique in its kind and combines ease of use with smart technology. Food can be stored in both the refrigerator and the freezer. Thanks to the special clip on the lid, the box remains completely airtight and waterproof.
The Easyclip is designed for versatile use: with one simple movement, the same clip can be opened as a steam valve, allowing the contents to be heated safely in the microwave. The transparent lid provides a direct view of the contents. In addition to the plastic version, the Easyclip is also available with a glass container, suitable for preparing oven dishes and then storing them in the refrigerator with the lid on. After use, the box can simply be placed in the dishwasher.
Thanks to these characteristics, the Mepal Easyclip is a textbook example of a future-proof plastic consumer product: practical, durable, and enthusiastically received by consumers.
Mepal is known for its smart and sustainable storage solutions for consumer goods. Whereas the company used to carry out all production in-house, it now focuses primarily on product design, distribution, and sales. Production has been entirely outsourced to reliable partners. Mepal attaches great importance to long-term partnerships with local suppliers who share the same values, an approach known in the Achterhoek region as “Noaberschap” (neighborliness).
Mepal chose Timmerije as its strategic partner for the development of the innovative Easyclip storage box. As a specialist in plastic injection molding and mold construction, Timmerije was able to quickly translate the groundbreaking design into an industrially manufacturable product that could be delivered in large quantities. The process included a feasibility study of the product design, the design and construction of the molds, the injection molding of parts, and the complete assembly of the finished product. Thanks to this comprehensive approach, Timmerije was able to deliver the Easyclip directly to retailers in the right color schemes and packaging.
Because Timmerije took on the entire project management, Mepal was relieved of all concerns from start to finish. At the same time, Mepal made a valuable contribution as a true partner in solving the technical challenges along the way. The result is a model of cooperation, aptly described as “neighborliness in a storage box.”
