Tool shop
Timmerije’s tool shop is the heart of our reliability. Here, our customers’ molds are maintained, repaired, and overhauled with precision and craftsmanship. Thanks to our in-house tool shop, we can respond quickly, prevent downtime, and significantly extend the lifespan of our molds. This way, our customers get a better return on their investment and, together, we contribute to sustainable production.
A mold as valuable capital
At Timmerije, we do not view a mold as a consumable, but as an investment that must retain its value. Our customers pay for this capital, and we ensure that it yields a return, from design and maintenance to overhaul. Because we have all the knowledge, machines, and processes in-house, we can guarantee quality, delivery time, and performance.
“We don’t see molds as consumables, but as an investment that must retain its value. If you use the mold sustainably, maintain it, and overhaul it in a timely manner, this not only benefits the environment, but also brings financial advantages. You simply get more profit from the same investment.”
Hans van Oudheusden – Engineer Project Manager at Timmerije
Thanks to this integrated approach, we prevent errors, limit subsequent adjustments, and ensure predictable performance throughout the mold’s service life. This allows customers to produce at the same quality for years and recoup their investment over the entire life cycle.
Sustainable returns throughout every life cycle
At Timmerije, sustainable returns start right from the design phase. Thanks to co-engineering, our specialists contribute ideas about both the plastic product and the corresponding mold from the very first product concept. Wear-sensitive parts are strategically positioned and maintenance-friendly solutions are already integrated into the design. Because we draw up the specifications for new molds ourselves, we know exactly what is needed to guarantee quality and longevity.
Maintenance is an integral part of our overall mold management. By carefully coordinating maintenance, overhaul, and production, every mold remains in top condition. Our preventive approach prevents unplanned downtime and keeps performance predictable. We translate the experience we gain from this into improved maintenance strategies that extend service life, reduce costs, and increase production efficiency.
By keeping the management of molds entirely in-house, we offer our customers certainty about performance, quality, and delivery reliability. They know that they can continue to produce for years with the same mold and consistent quality. This gives their own customers confidence and helps them recoup their investment over the entire life cycle.
Expertise in maintenance and overhaul
Our tool shop has the right machines, knowledge, and experience to carry out maintenance, repairs, and overhauls quickly and carefully. By keeping all operations in-house, we shorten lead times, prevent downtime, and maintain consistent production quality. Maintenance planning is based on production hours, quantities, and process data. Thanks to this predictive approach, we can carry out targeted maintenance, prevent malfunctions, and guarantee delivery reliability.
“We have all the knowledge and machinery in-house to maintain, repair, and overhaul molds. This enables us to respond quickly and prevent downtime for our customers.”
Marc Heineman – Foreman of the tool shop at Timmerije
Insight and cooperation in every maintenance phase
At fixed intervals, after a certain number of production hours or a set number of products, our toolmakers carry out preventive maintenance. Maintenance lists are drawn up weekly and work is scheduled in consultation with production planning. This ensures that every mold remains in optimal condition and that maintenance fits in seamlessly with the customer’s schedule.
During this maintenance, the mold is completely disassembled, inspected, and, where necessary, fitted with new or repaired parts. If there are any deviations in production, repairs or overhauls are carried out. Because we perform all operations in-house, we save time and costs and remain independent of external parties.

Our maintenance team works closely with production and engineering. Because we can see exactly how a mold behaves in the injection molding line, we can plan maintenance in a targeted manner and keep downtime to a minimum. In addition, many parts are standardized and available locally, which means they are readily available and our customers can continue production without interruption.
Control, registration, and secure storage
Every mold that arrives at Timmerije is thoroughly inspected and registered. We measure and document all parts and settings so that we know exactly whether the mold meets our specifications. All data is stored in our database, which allows us to track the performance and maintenance history of each mold. This gives us complete traceability and enables us to plan maintenance in a targeted manner.
After each production run, the mold is carefully preserved and stored in a fireproof safe. This protects the tool from external influences and ensures it is ready for immediate use in the next production cycle. This careful approach extends the service life, safeguards quality, and guarantees a reliable production process for our customers.
Smart maintenance, lasting results
For Timmerije, sustainability is not only a moral choice, but above all a form of good entrepreneurship. By intelligently integrating maintenance, overhaul, and service life extension, we reduce the total cost of ownership for our customers. This is good for the environment and for profitability.
“By cleverly combining design, maintenance, and craftsmanship, we make molds that not only last longer but also deliver more.”
Marc Heineman – Foreman of the tool shop at Timmerije
Our tool shop ensures that molds perform better, last longer, and remain immediately available for future production runs. This proves that sustainable working practices and commercial profitability can go hand in hand.
