Using production resources wisely pays off
For Timmerije, sustainable business also means using production resources responsibly. Molds form the basis for years of production and are typically owned by our customers. We therefore do not view them as consumables, but as an investment that must retain its value. By using molds sustainably from the start and actively managing them throughout their entire lifespan, we ensure that they last longer, perform better, and continue to deliver a return on investment.

Contributing ideas from the initial design phase onward
Our involvement begins early in the process. Based on the product design, we conduct a feasibility study to assess whether a product can be manufactured optimally. If that is not yet the case, we work with you to identify adjustments to the design and the corresponding mold. In doing so, we consider factors such as material selection, cooling, wear-prone components, and ease of maintenance. By making these decisions early on, we prevent the need for later adjustments and lay a solid foundation for a stable production process. In this way, we ensure that both the product and the mold are designed with quality, longevity, and efficiency in mind.
Tracking mold performance
We have new molds manufactured by trusted partners who work according to our specifications and quality requirements. Because we draw up these specifications ourselves and oversee the molds through to the start of production, we know exactly what is needed to ensure performance and longevity. This comprehensive approach prevents errors, minimizes the need for corrections down the line, and leads to predictable performance throughout the mold’s entire lifecycle. Wear-prone components are strategically positioned, processes are validated, and the mold delivers consistent performance, run after run.
In-house maintenance, repair, and overhaul
We perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls in our own tool shop. Molds undergo preventive maintenance based on production hours and production volumes. During this process, they are completely disassembled, inspected, and overhauled as needed. We record all relevant data in our database. This record-keeping provides us with continuous insight into the condition of the mold and the production process. As a result, we can plan maintenance strategically and implement changes to the product or process quickly and at relatively low cost. Because all the necessary expertise, personnel, and machinery are in-house, we prevent unnecessary downtime and maintain consistent product quality. The result is that design, mold management, maintenance, and plastic injection molding are seamlessly integrated.
